We’re seeking a mid-career Civil Engineer with a minimum of 7 years of experience for a hybrid position in our Loveland, Colorado or Silver City, New Mexico office. This person will lead and assist with various tasks related to civil engineering, environmental engineering, natural resources, and water resources projects. The candidate must possess a strong interest in working with a team—you'll be collaborating with other engineers and scientists.  

Job Description:

• Assist with permitting and engineering efforts for mine implementation, expansion and closure; assist with permitting efforts for (sub-) urban development 

• Produce permit packages, engineering drawings, engineering calculations, specifications, bid packages, and cost estimates with the team 

• Assist with field data collection and monitoring of environmental media 

• Participate in client presentations and prepare written reports 

• With help from the team, organize and produce design calculations, detailed designs, technical reports, permits, engineering plans and specifications and create and helps manage cost estimates and project schedules 

• Build and foster good working relationships with existing and new clients 

• Actively participate in the identification of new opportunities, assisting the project team with marketing and proposal phases of projects including scope development, client interviews, and contract execution 

Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Agricultural, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical or Biological Engineering or related field of study 

• 5-7 years of experience in a related position; MSHA Certification preferred  

• Ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously 

• Proficiency in GIS, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Access 

• Organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, ability to learn quickly and problem solve  

• Must be able to work at least 40 hours per week, primarily during business hours, with some travel and field work required

We are seeking an entry-level Civil Engineer for a hybrid position in our Loveland, Colorado or Silver City, New Mexico office. This person will assist with various tasks related to civil engineering, environmental engineering, natural resources, and water resources projects. The candidate must possess a strong interest in working in a team environment.

The person in this position will be exposed to a variety of specialty areas. The position requires collaboration with other engineers and scientists. The candidate must be able to work independently, possess strong written and verbal communication skills, and be able to use reference material and college-level engineering knowledge to solve real-world problems. The candidate must meet expectations for deadlines and exhibit strong character and positive attitude.

Job Description:

• Assist engineers and scientists on multiple projects

• Perform engineering calculations and develop drawings and visual aids

• Assist with engineering reports, proposals, permit applications, and other written documents

• Assist with field data collection and monitoring of environmental media

• Read and draft engineering design drawings and technical specifications

• Manage databases

Requirements:

• B.S. or M.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related discipline

• Entry-level AutoCAD experience with an interest in learning AutoCAD Civil 3D

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Access preferred

• Knowledge or interest in the fields of hydrology, hydraulics, geochemistry, geotechnical engineering, environmental engineering and/or structural engineering

• Organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, ability to learn quickly and problem solve

• Must be able to work at least 40 hours per week during regular business hours and travel and work in the field as needed
